Job summary

IES is seeking a Senior Field Engineer - Structured Cabling to lead installation, testing, and support of structured cabling systems in data centers and commercial facilities. You will guide field teams, review drawings, and ensure safety, quality, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

The role emphasizes leadership, hands-on cabling and testing expertise, and collaboration with customers, vendors, and project teams to deliver reliable telecommunications infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Six or more years of supervisory or managerial experience.
• Three years as Lead Communications Technician or similar role.
• Five years in telecommunications or related field.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
• Must be able to travel within branch/regional territory as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for field operations and mentor technicians.
• Lead installation, termination, testing, and certification of copper and fiber cabling.
• Perform testing and troubleshooting using industry-standard equipment.
• Coordinate field activities with project managers, customers, and subcontractors.
• Ensure safety, quality, and compliance with standards and customer requirements.
