Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Senior Field Engineer to supervise field service teams and perform high-level electrical testing and commissioning. The role includes project leadership for turnkey jobs, estimating, scheduling, reporting, and invoicing, with significant travel.

The candidate should have NEC/IEEE knowledge, diverse switchgear experience, and strong communication skills to interface with clients and management. Drug and background checks apply.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code and standards such as OSHA and NFPA.
• Experience with power quality surveys, start-up, ANSI, NEC, NEMA and UL specs.
• Background in switchgear and equipment testing up to 500-kV class.
• Ability to communicate well in writing and verbally with clients and management.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train and assist field service engineers and technicians.
• Perform complex troubleshooting, tests, inspections on electrical apparatus.
• Lead large projects including generator tests and substation commissioning.
• Develop tests, perform estimates, scheduling, reports and billing.
• Prepare detailed project reports and ensure accurate invoicing.
• Engage in client interface and business development activities.

Education

Graduate Engineer BSEE or BSME

Graduate of Electrical Tech School or Military equivalent

High school education or equivalent

NETA 3 Certification or equivalent
