Job summary

Y-12 National Security Complex is seeking a Field Engineer - Mechanical at Senior Associate level in Oak Ridge, TN. You will provide construction site engineering resources, interpret designs, adjust for site conditions, and support supervision to ensure conformity with design specs.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, performing constructability reviews, maintaining records, and coordinating with project managers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical engineering discipline or related field plus 2+ years of relevant experience. Typical experience ranging from 4 to 7 years.
• Master’s degree: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience. Typical experience ranging from 4 to 7 years.
• DOE O 426.2A requirements: Baccalaureate in engineering or related major 2 years job-related, and 1-year nuclear experience; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative.

Responsibilities

• Interpret designs at construction site and adjust designs to meet site conditions.
• Perform quality inspections and verify installed quantities.
• Provide technical approval of completed construction tasks.
• Support construction supervision and manage field changes with authority.
