Job summary

X-Energy, Inc. in Oak Ridge, TN seeks a Mechanical Construction Field Engineer to plan, coordinate, and monitor nuclear mechanical construction work, ensuring safety and compliance with quality requirements and project schedules.

You will interface with design engineering, construction management, superintendents, and contractors, develop installation plans, manage work packages, and resolve constructability issues in the field to enable successful commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or international equivalent.
• 20+ years of relevant experience in mechanical construction or nuclear facilities.
• Experience reading and interpreting construction documents, plans, specs, and shop drawings.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to meet physical demands on construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Reviews contractor projections and schedules for workforce, material, and equipment requirements.
• Coordinates the construction operations impact on external interfaces to align with schedules.
• Enforces policies and procedures established by field construction management.
• Supports construction personnel in interpreting engineering design and vendor documents.
• Maintains project document control and uses latest documents in work activities.
• Develops integrated installation plans for complex installations and ensures compliance.
• Verifies quantities weekly and ensures accurate reporting for commodities.
• Oversees ITP development and implementation with quality control guidance.
• Ensures contract-required inspections and documentation are completed.
