Job summary

Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN seeks a structural engineer to develop high‑quality design packages, including drawings, specs and calculations. You will provide on‑site field support during construction to ensure correct implementation and work with peers on scopes, criteria, and material estimates.

Responsibilities include walking down existing facilities to support accurate design documentation and on‑site support for construction personnel.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil/structural engineering degree or equivalent with required GPA.
• Professional Engineering license or ability to obtain one after required experience.
• Knowledge of design codes and standards applicable to nuclear facilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality structural design packages including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Provide field support during construction to ensure proper implementation.
• Collaborate with structural engineers to prepare scopes, design criteria, man-hour estimates, and bills of material.
• Conduct walkdowns of existing facilities to support design documents and on-site support.
