Job summary

The Christman Company is seeking a Senior Project Superintendent for the Grand Rapids region to oversee field activities on large projects and coordinate subcontractors, sequencing, scheduling, quality control, and site safety. The ideal candidate will bring a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field and 10+ years of leadership in commercial construction.

Expect travel to local sites, strong leadership, and a focus on safety and program delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Ten years of commercial construction leadership experience.
• OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR, and safety training or equivalents.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Represent Christman on the project site daily, setting expectations and maintaining commitments.
• Review documents for constructability, phasing, site logistics, and safety.
• Establish safety, quality, housekeeping, and conduct expectations at the site.
• Create a site safety program and conduct safety orientations for entrants.
• Plan and coordinate site logistics, traffic patterns, and material staging.
• Coordinate with Project Manager, client, and trade contractors on work plans and meetings.
• Lead trade contract work to align with the project schedule and contractual requirements.
• Oversee interpretation of construction documents and ensure alignment with specs.
• Manage pre-installation coordination meetings and submittal reviews.
• Provide daily progress reports and monitor project risks and contingency plans.
