Job summary

Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Senior Adjuster Field Service Claims to independently manage moderate to complex field property claims. You will lead investigations, assess coverage, set reserves, and communicate with legal, underwriting, vendors, and agents.

Travel on short notice is expected. The role requires 5–10 years of adjusting experience, strong negotiation skills, and proficiency with Claims systems and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with claim handling.
• Typically requires 5–10 years of adjusting experience.
• Strong knowledge of local geography, regulations, and public safety agencies.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage field property claims, including those requiring outside field investigations and catastrophe (CAT) response.
• Lead thorough investigations, assess coverage, and issue documentation including reservation of rights and coverage letters.
• Identify and proactively pursue opportunities to transfer risk to appropriate entities for insureds and business partners.
• Maintain comprehensive and detailed claim records, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with jurisdictional requirements.
• Identify and assign subrogation potential; set up files to support recovery efforts.
• Ensure all claims activities comply with regulatory and company standards; support regulatory obligations.
• Investigate and manage suspicious claims using advanced techniques and SIU involvement as needed.
• Set reserves, authorize payments, and make financial decisions within authority.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders; lead cross-functional meetings and communicate complex information clearly.
• Use advanced tools to identify trends and protect PII while improving efficiency.
• Maintain comprehensive factual claim records and prepare detailed reports.
• Mentor junior adjusters and contribute to training and best practices.
