Job summary

CDM Smith's Transportation CEI team is seeking an Inspector to perform complex and routine construction inspections at project sites. You will evaluate materials and processes against plans, specifications, and provisions, with travel to multiple locations.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, relevant certifications (ACI, NICET), a valid driver's license, and the ability to read drawings, perform math, and communicate clearly in English.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or National Entity such as ACI or NICET in earthwork, asphalt, and concrete if required by the client or jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections of construction to verify material and method conformity.
• Use higher-grade equipment and perform complex calculations.
• Work under supervision appropriate to your knowledge level.
• Review drawings to prepare for inspection.
• Document and communicate inspection results to the supervisor.
