Job summary

CDM Smith’s CEI team seeks a qualified Inspector to perform complex and routine construction inspections at project sites. You will review drawings, ensure materials and methods meet plans and specifications, and communicate results to supervisors.

This on-site role requires a high school diploma, relevant certifications (ACI/NICET preferred), a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel 20–40%. Strong math, geometry, and MS Office skills are essential, and you may mentor junior

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or national body such as ACI or NICET in earthwork, asphalt, and concrete if required by the client or jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency varies by project duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections of construction to ensure materials and processes comply with plans, specs, and provisions.
• Use high-grade equipment and perform complex calculations for inspections.
• Work under supervision appropriate to knowledge demonstration for the assignment.
• Review drawings in preparation for construction inspection.
• Document inspection results and communicate to the supervisor.
