Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a field Inspector for our Transportation CEI team to inspect and monitor construction activities at project sites, evaluating materials and adherence to plans and specifications. The role requires reading drawings, understanding contract provisions, and clear communication in English.

Location includes on-site work with travel. Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, and 12 years of related experience, with NICET/ACI certifications

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or national entity such as ACI or NICET if required by the client or jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections of construction to evaluate material usage and conformity to plans and provisions.
• Use higher grade equipment and perform complex calculations for inspections.
• Work under supervisor guidance depending on assignment.
• Review drawings to prepare for inspections.
• Document and communicate inspection results to the supervisor.
