Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site Inspector for the Transportation CEI team to inspect and monitor construction activities at project sites, ensuring conformance with drawings and specifications. The role requires knowledge of materials and highway construction, with the ability to read plans and communicate findings clearly.

The candidate should have a High School diploma or equivalent, 12 years of related experience, and relevant certifications if required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or national entity such as ACI or NICET in earthwork, asphalt and concrete if required by the client or jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performing complex and routine inspections to evaluate materials and construction conformity with plans, specs and provisions.
• Using higher-grade equipment and performing complex calculations for inspections.
• Work under supervision appropriate to demonstrated knowledge for the assignment.
• Reviewing drawings to prepare for construction inspections.
• Documenting and communicating inspection results to the supervisor.
