Job summary

CDM Smith's Transportation CEI team seeks a field inspector to perform complex and routine inspections at project sites, including roadways, bridges, drainage, and earthwork. You will read drawings, document results, and guide junior inspectors, with travel and on-site work at multiple locations in the region.

Ideal candidates have HS diploma, relevant certifications, a valid driver’s license, and a proven ability to communicate clearly in English while applying mathematical and technical skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or national entity (ACI or NICET) may be required.
• Valid driver's license required; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to ensure materials and work conform to plans and specs.
• Use equipment and calculations to support construction inspection.
• Work under supervision appropriate to knowledge.
• Review drawings to prepare for inspections.
• Document inspection results and communicate findings to supervisor.
