Job summary

CDM Smith's CEI team is seeking a capable Inspector to perform complex inspections at project sites across multiple states. You will evaluate materials and methods against plans, read drawings, and communicate findings to supervisors to help ensure quality and safety.

The role requires a High School diploma (or equivalent), relevant certifications (ACI/NICET as applicable), a valid driver’s license, and about 12 years of related experience. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from an approved agency (ACI or NICET) or State Highway Agency as required by the client.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections of construction to evaluate materials and processes against plans and specs.
• Use higher-grade equipment and perform complex calculations for inspections.
• Work under limited or direct supervision based on assignment depth.
• Review drawings to prepare for construction inspection.
• Document and communicate inspection results to the supervisor.
