Job summary

Travelers Insurance in Hunt Valley, MD seeks a Risk Control Consultant to provide account knowledge on hazards, controls and management. Qualifications

• Five years of experience in safety, risk control/management or related field (occupational/environmental health and safety, science, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or military experience).
• Strong knowledge of the insurance industry and business acumen.
• Certifications such as ASP, CSP, ARM, CFPS are preferred.
• Technical aptitude and detail oriented.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent field presence, spending 20%–50% of time onsite with customers.
• Partner with Underwriting to select, retain, and grow a profitable book of business.
• Build relationships with Underwriting, Claim, Risk Control Specialists, and Brokers to service customers as a team.
• Perform risk assessments for moderate to high complex accounts with significant exposures.
• Write technically detailed reports with clear risk assessments and recommendations.
• Identify customer needs via loss analysis to provide Risk Control products and services.
• Identify uncontrolled exposures and urge corrective actions to mitigate losses.
• Provide risk mitigation solutions using Company resources and stay current with regulatory developments.
• Create a valued customer experience during assessments and service encounters.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
