Job summary

Travelers is seeking a seasoned Risk Control professional to develop and oversee nationwide Risk Control services. The role requires field presence, strong client engagement, and collaboration with underwriting, brokers, and internal teams to identify hazards and implement effective loss-prevention plans.

The ideal candidate has extensive safety and risk control experience, strong communication, and the ability to translate complex risk data into clear recommendations.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in safety, risk control/management, or related field such as occupational/environmental health and safety, science, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or relevant military experience.
• Valid drivers license.
• Must have or be able to attain appropriate certification to meet state-specific requirements, where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent field presence, spending about 20%‑50% of the time onsite with customers.
• Travel to customers may entail long-distance, overnight travel, and/or multi-night trips.
• Consult with clients on strategies for identifying hazards and coordinating delivery of Risk Control services.
• Analyze losses to identify trends and ensure plans address loss leaders.
• Negotiate and manage client expectations to balance service and cost.
• Influence clients to ensure commitment to service plan and implementation of recommendations.
• Build productive relationships with underwriting, brokers, and Risk Control teams.
• Adopt Travelers digital technologies to enhance performance.
• Write technically detailed reports communicating risk assessments and recommendations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
