Job summary

Canon U.S.A., Inc. is seeking a Sr. Application Engineer (Technical Support Engineer) to provide technical support for software-related issues on semiconductor equipment.

The role involves on-site and travel to customer sites nationwide, setting up and upgrading software, and troubleshooting automation settings. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (5+ years) or a Master’s degree, strong communication, leadership, and knowledge of SECS/GEM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; 5+ years related experience or Master’s degree in engineering preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Japanese language skills a plus.
• Familiar with SQL, UNIX, LINUX environment and scripting languages.

Responsibilities

• Organize and track both computer hardware and software configuration on all products in the field.
• Liaison with local, domestic and overseas software design team regarding software and/or automation related problems in the field.
• Set up hardware, install and configure software, drivers and peripheral devices with knowledge of networking components.
• Discuss with customers about Semiconductor equipment automation specifications (SECS/GEM Software compliance)
