Job summary

Comcast in Indiana is seeking a Field Technician responsible for routine plant maintenance, troubleshooting, and outages across video, voice, and data services. This is a driving role with on-call, night shifts, and a flexible schedule.

Key tasks include troubleshooting analog/digital optics, fiber impairments, construction maintenance, and documentation of work orders. Candidates should have basic safety knowledge and pass DOT requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of twelve months cable telecommunications, broadband, or similar experience.
• Must have valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• DOT regulated position with on-call, night shifts, and a flexible schedule.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and lift up to 70 lbs.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot analog and digital optics to support connectivity to nodes and OLT equipment.
• Isolate and resolve fiber optic impairments for HFC and EPON networks.
• Perform construction maintenance: splice coaxial cable, replace power supplies as needed.
• Respond to damage scenarios and coordinate fixes with Construction, Head End, Operations.
• Track and repair leakage and complete required paperwork for each job.
• Ensure safety standards per NEC/NESC/OSHA and federal/state codes.
• Drive company vehicle safely and work nights/weekends as required.
• Complete all duties and training as assigned.
