Job summary

Cloudera Government Solutions, Inc. seeks a Senior Solutions Engineer (Federal Civilian) to lead technical wins in sales cycles and build ongoing customer relationships.

You will design solutions, demonstrate Cloudera tech, and rely on your deep cloud, data, and security expertise to meet agency needs. This role focuses on federal civilian agencies, with a requirement for strong communication, presentations, and problem solving; DOE Q clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in a customer-facing role, preferably pre-sales
• Ability to create and deliver technical presentations and demos
• Experience with Big Data, data warehousing, or relational databases
• Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure or GCP) and private cloud platforms (Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of data engineering, data science or ML
• Understanding of security, data governance and enterprise IT
• Familiarity with US Federal civilian agency needs; DOE clearance preferred
• Strong communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

• Own the technical sales process from initial meetings to post-sales follow-up
• Support customers' technical needs, discover new use cases for Cloudera tech
• Design customer solutions using Cloudera reference architectures
• Demonstrate Cloudera products to inspire customer buy-in
• Collaborate with Account Managers to show value and outcomes
• Present product roadmap and vision to customers
• Coordinate with other Cloudera teams to present one voice
• Advocate for customer needs to Product and Engineering
• Participate in external publicity (conferences, meetups, blogs)
