Job summary

Duke University’s School of Medicine seeks a Research Agreements Associate, Senior to manage cradle-to-grave federal contracts and OTAs for the Office of Research Administration. You will review proposals, negotiate terms, and support award management across departments.

Responsibilities include training, SOP development, and ensuring compliance with federal rules while collaborating with PIs and central offices. This remote role supports Duke’s research community.

Qualifications

• Education/Training - Work requires a Bachelor's degree.
• Experience - Work requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience working with federal contracts.
• Or An Equivalent Combination Of Relevant Education And/Or Experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and submission of federal contract proposals for SOM departments.
• Analyze and interpret federal regulations (FAR/DFAR) and negotiate terms with Sponsors.
• Assist in award management and life-cycle administration of contracts.
• Draft and negotiate complex federal subcontracts and ensure proper flow-downs.
• Develop SOPs for Duke SOM related to federal contracting processes.
