Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a driven Account Executive for the Federal Civilian space to grow relationships and opportunities within whitespace accounts. You will work with channel partners, SEs, and distributors to build pipeline and close revenue as part of a high-growth federal team.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5+ years in field sales selling complex software for cyber security, plus strong presentation and communication skills and a solid understanding of U.S. government procurement processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years field sales experience; 5+ preferred, selling into Federal Civilian space.
• Background selling complex software solutions with cyber security relevance.
• Strong understanding of U.S. Government acquisition processes and IT budgeting.
• Deep knowledge of cyber security, FedRAMP, and unique Federal requirements.
• Excellent presentation and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop new relationships with Federal Civilian accounts via consultative selling.
• Collaborate with Sales Engineering, resellers, and ecosystem partners to drive pipeline.
• Prepare responses, build quotes, and create targeted account plans.
• Forecast regularly and maintain Salesforce hygiene.
• Maintain knowledge of Proofpoint’s competitive positioning and targets.
