Job summary

Doyon Management Services (DMS) seeks a Project Manager (Federal Construction) to lead complex government construction projects, coordinate preconstruction, budgeting, scheduling, and field operations across multiple sites.

The role emphasizes leadership, contract administration, risk management, QA/QC, and client relations, with travel required and strict compliance with USACE/NAVFAC requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Construction Management, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct Project Management experience with federal government construction projects
  • Experience working on USACE and/or NAVFAC projects
  • Strong knowledge of cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, engineering principles, and accounting
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules

Responsibilities

  • Project manage multiple construction projects simultaneously
  • Lead high-performance teams through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring
  • Manage and develop assigned staff toward maximum job performance
  • Cultivate and strengthen client relationships, establishing a trusted advisor role
  • Understand and administer contract and subcontract agreements
  • Provide leadership to influence change
  • Foster design team, subcontractor, and vendor relations
  • Establish, update, and communicate the Master Project Schedule
  • Work with preconstruction on timely project start-up
  • Manage budget, interpret financial reports, and analyze data for budget compliance
  • Utilize project management software
  • Manage the QA/QC program
  • Provide leadership in risk evaluation, contract negotiations, fee, and pricing decisions
  • Ensure compliance with Doyon ethics and compliance programs
  • Mentor staff in safety and professional accountability
  • Oversee field operations and engineering processes
  • Develop team competencies in insurance, labor, and employee relations
  • Ensure enforcement of safety protocols
  • Travel required
  • Other duties as assigned
