Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. seeks a Fatigue & Damage Tolerance Engineer to join our Engineering department, based in Wichita, KS or Mobile, AL.

The role supports aircraft structure development through fatigue and damage tolerance analyses using hand calculations and computer techniques to optimize high strength-to-weight designs. Responsibilities include collaboration with design and static stress teams, modeling with CATIA/NASTRAN/ PATRAN and ensuring compliance with FAR/JAR/CS/Part21.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering (Aero, Civil, Mechanical).
• 7+ years total experience in analysis with airframe structures, including fatigue and/or damage tolerance.
• Strong computer background including MS Excel and Google Suite.
• Authorized to Work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously perform complex durability and damage tolerance analyses to verify structural integrity requirements.
• Document analyses in support of trade studies or detail drawing sign-off for airframe structure.
• Lead in preparation of complex business and technical material and presentations.
