Airbus Americas, Inc. is seeking a Fatigue & Damage Tolerance Engineer to join the Engineering department in Wichita, Kansas or Mobile, Alabama.

The role focuses on fatigue and damage tolerance analysis of aircraft structures using hand calculations and finite element methods, collaborating with design and static stress teams. The position involves ensuring structural integrity, mentoring analysts, and presenting technical material to clients and internal stakeholders.

Competenze

• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering (Aero, Civil or Mechanical).
• 7+ years total experience in analysis with airframe structures, including fatigue and/or damage tolerance.
• In-depth knowledge of classical and numerical (Finite Element) stress analysis methods.

Mansioni

• Autonomously perform complex durability and damage tolerance analyses to verify structural integrity requirements.
• Document analyses in support of trade studies or detail drawing sign-off for airframe structure.
• Lead or mentor less experienced structural analysts and provide technical leadership.
• Lead in the preparation of complex business and technical material and presentation packages.
• Interact with Design, Static Stress and other Airbus departments on design solutions.
