Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc in Danvers, MA is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to help lead a team ensuring a safe, well-maintained store environment for customers and staff. The role supports the Facilities Manager by executing preventive maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building systems, and by coordinating on-demand repairs.

You will mentor junior technicians, document outcomes in the CMMS, manage parts and vendor interactions, and participate in safety programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college preferred.
• 5-7 years of hands-on facilities experience with mechanical maintenance.
• 5+ years in predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
• 5+ years of HVAC, refrigeration, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and mechanical repairs.
• Able to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.
• Low voltage signal tracing and troubleshooting of logical devices.
• Able to work without supervision and meet multiple deadlines.
• Strong communication with all organizational levels.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with CMMS and Coupa ordering systems.
• Knowledge of computer networking.
• Experience with electromechanical operation and maintenance.
• Project management considered a plus.
• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends.
• Physical: lift 50 lbs+, climb stairs/ladders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform on-demand and preventive maintenance on critical and non-critical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems in Store Operations.
• Operate and monitor building controls and EMCS alarms.
• Lead equipment rounds and readings; identify malfunctions.
• Document outcomes and delegate tasks to technicians; mentor staff.
• Assist Facilities Manager with training of new employees on equipment/building systems.
• Respond to location emergencies; update CMMS with maintenance records.
• Maintain parts inventory and coordinate with vendors/landlords.
• Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and safety procedures.
