Caterpillar is building a new advanced manufacturing campus in Sanford, North Carolina. We seek a Senior Facilities Project Engineer to lead facility systems from design through production readiness, coordinating electrical, mechanical, civil, building-control, and manufacturing interfaces within the Facilities Engineering Team.

Qualifications

• Project & Program Management experience managing integrated scope, schedules, budgets, forecasts, change control, performance reporting, and recovery plans for complex capital projects.
• Leadership: align discipline engineers, contractors, suppliers, and internal partners; communicate to senior leaders.
• Construction & Facilities knowledge across electrical, mechanical, and civil infrastructure; coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead facility planning, design, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness activities while managing scope, budgets, schedules, and execution strategies.
• Translate operational needs into integrated design, execution, and readiness plans for office, warehouse, distribution, and manufacturing environments; optimize design decisions.
• Lead and manage consultants, contractors, and suppliers through design, construction, commissioning, and project execution; ensure safety, quality, cost, and schedule performance.
• Translate complex technical challenges into clear business recommendations, risks, and updates for leadership; build stakeholder alignment.
• Lead project controls, governance, capital planning, and facility optimization while ensuring safety, quality, sustainability, and financial stewardship; oversee turnover and continuous improvement.
