Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Sr. Assistant Facilities Manager in Connecticut. You will supervise building staff, manage day-to-day operations across campus facilities, and coordinate with the Facilities Manager to ensure safety, maintenance, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 3+ years of facility management experience, a related degree, and strong communication and leadership skills. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Bloomfield, CT.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in facilities management, building, business or other related field required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience, preferably in commercial or industrial real estate with facility management experience required
• One year supervisory experience preferred
• Experience in maintenance, construction, engineering, and all facets of property operation and building management preferred
• CMMS/Work Order Management experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage the building staff in absence of the Facility Manager or Senior Facility Manager
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the facility(s) or campus including janitorial, life-safety, engineering, site services, and general maintenance
• Supervise maintenance programs for interior and exterior conditions of properties
• Respond to requests for building maintenance and coordinate contract programs
• Prepare budgets, financial reports, contracts, and purchase orders
• Provide information and reports for capital budgets and five-year maintenance plan
• Monitor compliance with insurance requirements and coordinate claims
• Proactively inspect the facility and report findings to the Facility Manager
• Hire, train and motivate facility personnel and conduct performance evaluations
