Job summary

Vandelay Companies is seeking a Senior Facilities Manager to own day-to-day facilities operations across its restaurant portfolio. This role ensures restaurants are safe, functional, well-maintained, and operational, handling service requests, preventive maintenance, vendors, and facility-related costs.

You will lead relationships with GMs, chefs, and operations leadership; review quotes and invoices; manage capital needs and cost-saving opportunities; and travel between locations as required to

Qualifications

• 10+ years in facilities management or related field.
• Experience across multiple commercial locations.
• Proven vendor and contractor management.
• Strong budgeting, quotes, and cost-control abilities.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of day-to-day facilities operations for all assigned restaurant locations.
• Serve as primary facilities contact for General Managers and restaurant leadership.
• Manage facilities service requests via the company platform.
• Review, prioritize, and monitor work orders and service proposals.
• Ensure emergency and critical issues receive immediate attention.
• Manage vendor and contractor performance and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
• Own preventive maintenance compliance across the portfolio.
• Control day-to-day facilities spending within budgets.
• Evaluate repair proposals, invoices, and charges for unnecessary costs.
• Identify long-term cost-reduction opportunities and durability improvements.
• Build strong relationships with GMs, Chefs, and Operations leadership.
• Communicate facility issues and timelines clearly to stakeholders.
• Minimize disruption during repairs and provide education on facility care.
• Oversee exterior conditions, parking, landscaping, lighting, and signage.
• Ensure facilities are safe, functional, and presentable for guests and staff.
• Coordinate repairs with property managers, landlords, and vendors.
• Support Director of Facilities during new restaurant openings and pre/post-opening tasks.
• Ensure smooth transition of new locations into day-to-day facilities program.
