Job summary

The Scion Group LLC in Starkville, MS, is seeking a Facilities Manager to ensure safety, reliability, and efficient operation of the property’s buildings and equipment on an onsite team. You will lead a fast-paced facilities group and coordinate with third‑party vendors as needed.

The role requires deep experience with building systems, life-safety, and preventive maintenance, plus strong leadership and problem solving in a collegiate environment.

Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant experience managing building systems in multi-unit residential properties
• 5 years of supervisory experience
• 5 years’ experience with building automation systems and life safety systems
• EPA 608 Universal certification
• Boiler operator certificate / license
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or intent to obtain within six months
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, safety guidelines and manuals
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to stand 8 hours+ and lift up to 100 lbs
• Job location is at the assigned property; travel may be required
• Serves in an on-call capacity, except during PTO periods

Responsibilities

• Manage all building services and preventative maintenance programs per SOPs and regulations
• Oversee HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and building systems
• Monitor systems, diagnostics, maintenance, testing and certification for major systems
• Operate and manage life safety systems including fire pumps and alarms
• Prioritize and schedule maintenance work to Scion standards
• Supervise Facilities Technicians and verify work orders for labor hours and costs
• Inspect buildings and grounds for safety, health and code issues
• Prepare written reports and provide recommendations after inspections
• Oversee Turn preparations including vacated units and repairs
• Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with General Manager
• Maintain shop, equipment, and on-site facilities with proper safety practices
