Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Manager of Operations for Workplace Facilities. You will lead the onsite East Coast operations across office and R&D spaces, partnering with IT, Security, EH&S, and Culinary teams to deliver a seamless, safe, and inspiring workplace experience.

This role blends strategic space planning with hands-on leadership, ensuring maintenance, vendor management, and program delivery meet Rivian’s standards for safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of progressive facilities management or corporate real estate operations experience.
• Proven leadership experience managing direct reports or vendor teams in fast-paced settings.
• Experience supporting multi-use facilities blending office space with R&D or lab environments.
• Strong project management track record from conception through completion.
• Analytical problem solving using data to drive decisions.
• Technical proficiency with IWMS, CMMS, and modern space planning tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with senior stakeholders.
• Self-starter with service mindset and high attention to detail.
• Adaptability to a dynamic corporate landscape and evolving practices.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Development: lead East Coast Workplace Operations teams with a service mindset.
• Facility & Asset Maintenance: oversee maintenance programs to maximize asset life and minimize downtime.
• Automotive OEM & Lab Ops: manage lab/R&D facility operations supporting technical teams.
• Vendor & SLA Management: handle third-party vendors and SLAs for services.
• Performance Tracking: monitor KPIs like ticket response times and efficiency.
• Space Planning & Forecasting: oversee space utilization and headcount forecasting.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: coordinate with IT and Security on site access and integrations.
• Culinary & Amenity Programs: align food services with employee experience standards.
• Capital Projects & Real Estate: partner on expansions and tenant improvements.
• Financial & Budget Oversight: manage budgets and expenditures, identify savings.
• Safety & Compliance: ensure safety standards and codes are met with EH&S.
• Event Operations: plan All-Hands meetings and leadership visits.
• Process Optimization: implement scalable SOPs to improve workflows.
• Stakeholder Management: serve as primary contact for leadership and stakeholders.
