Job summary

Macy's is seeking a Chief Engineer II to maintain the building, supervise trades and facility staff, and manage preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and capital projects across stores. You will partner with MCCS management and store leadership to ensure operations run smoothly and safely.

The role requires strong HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical expertise, along with leadership, budgeting, and vendor management.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required or encouraged to apply.
• 2+ years of related experience in facilities maintenance or similar.
• Able to perform heavy lifting and physical duties as described.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preventative maintenance and repairs on electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and life-safety systems.
• Direct facilities personnel and contractors, ensuring safety and quality.
• Manage budgets, purchasing procedures, and expense control.
• Coach, mentor, and develop field staff to drive performance.
• Collaborate with Store Management, Operations, and Loss Prevention teams.
