Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Charlotte, NC seeks a Facilities Assessment Principal to lead the Southeast Building Science & Infrastructure team. You will guide PCA and FCA projects, supervise technical work, and drive capital planning strategies for clients.

You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and owners, manage budgets, and mentor junior staff in a client-facing, collaborative environment. The role requires senior expertise and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Architecture (NCARB)
• 12+ years of related experience in facilities assessments, property condition assessments, capital planning, or related consulting services
• Licensed or certified: P.E. or Registered Architect (RA)
• Extensive knowledge of building science and infrastructure principles and applications
• Experience leading complex projects and mentoring staff

Responsibilities

• Lead facilities assessment consulting projects and serve as a senior technical expert on PCA, FCA, capital planning, and building system evaluations.
• Provide technical leadership and peer review of reports and field work to ensure quality and consistency.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budgets, change orders, and staffing across multiple projects.
• Develop capital reserve models, cost tables, and long-term asset planning.
• Mentor junior staff and Associate Principals; support staff development and performance feedback.
• Lead client discussions on findings, recommendations, and capital planning strategies.
