Job summary

ECS seeks a Facilities Assessment Principal to lead its Southeast Building Science & Infrastructure team in Raleigh, NC. You will guide PCA and FCA projects, drive capital planning, evaluate building systems, and deliver data-driven recommendations to owners, architects, engineers, and contractors.

This client-facing role emphasizes technical leadership, project management, and mentorship of junior staff, with responsibility for report reviews, proposals, and ensuring quality across deliverables.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of building science and infrastructure principles.
• Expert understanding of building systems, including structural, MEP, fire/life safety, and envelope systems.
• Strong knowledge of ASTM standards (including E2018) and applicable building codes.
• Experience with capital planning, cost estimating, and lifecycle analysis.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects, mentor staff, and manage multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee PCA/FCA and related assessments, with final review of reports.
• Develop capital reserve models, budgets, and forecasting.
• Evaluate Facility Condition Index (FCI) and provide strategic recommendations.
• Direct field investigations and data collection for quality outcomes.
• Mentor junior staff and Associate Principals, supporting career growth.
