Job summary

Fastenal is seeking an External Financial Reporting Manager in Winona, MN to lead a fast-paced accounting team and ensure accurate, timely external reporting under US GAAP and SEC requirements. You will own the preparation of financial statements, MD&A, footnotes, and EDGAR submissions, coordinate with internal stakeholders, and guide policy development and system improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required.
• Progressive accounting experience with external financial reporting.
• Experience with US GAAP and ICFR controls.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily activities of external reporting team.
• Oversee preparation of external financial statements, footnotes and MD&A.
• Oversee SEC filings, EDGAR submissions, and XBRL tagging.
• Manage quarterly reporting timelines and governance disclosures.
• Research complex accounting matters and draft policies.
• Coordinate with auditors, IR, and senior leadership.
• Develop staff and lead special projects.
