Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Paradise, NV, seeks an Events Manager to oversee Convention Services, coordinating client functions and ensuring alignment with hotel standards. You will direct planning, manage staff allocations and collaborate with F&B to deliver upscale events.

Responsibilities include managing room configurations, liaising with meeting planners and vendors, and driving revenue through effective space and pricing strategies.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or as a meeting planner.
• Proficient in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets and word processing.
• Knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, health department rules and liquor regulations.
• Marriott Consolidated Inventory System “CI” experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Keep supervisor informed of problems or matters requiring attention.
• Prepare and submit required reports in a timely manner.
• Follow up on turnovers within 24 hours by phone and 2 days in writing.
• Know meeting room setups and capabilities.
• Interact with outside planners and vendors for event setup.
• Maintain pricing integrity and propose upscale menus for clients.
• Create and manage rooming, VIP lists, and client follow-ups.
