Job summary

General Motors seeks a Senior Hardware Design Engineer – Low Voltage Electric Power in Warren, MI. You will own hardware design for power electronics, lead embedded architectures, and drive DFMEA/PFMEA, tests, and documentation with cross-functional teams across software, mechanical, and validation disciplines.

7+ years automotive hardware experience, proficiency with Mentor Graphics, PSpice, Saber, and Mathcad, and strong problem-solving skills are required.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering is required; MS preferred.
• 7+ years in automotive hardware electronics design.
• Experience with low-voltage power distribution and DC/DC converters.
• Proficiency with hardware verification, documentation, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead embedded designs for advanced module architectures.
• Develop electrical schematics and PCB layouts for power electronics.
• Perform worst-case analyses and component selection.
• Ensure ISO9001, DFMEA/PFMEA, and design controls are followed.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
