Job summary

General Motors seeks a Senior Hardware Design Engineer – Low Voltage Electric Power to lead embedded hardware development for key automotive power components. You will drive schematic design, PCB layout, and rigorous verification while coordinating with software, mechanical, and supplier teams to ensure robust, scalable solutions for next‑gen vehicles.

You will apply deep expertise in low‑voltage distribution, EMC, and DFMEA as part of ISO9001 processes, while advancing cost, quality, and timing

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering required; MS preferred.
  • 7+ years of automotive hardware experience.
  • Experience with low-voltage distribution, eFuses, FETs.
  • Experience with EMC/EMI regulatory requirements and test methods.

Responsibilities

  • Lead embedded designs for advanced module architectures.
  • Lead electrical schematic design and PCB layout.
  • Oversee design verification, DFMEA/PFMEA, and ISO9001/ECR processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for vehicle integration.
  • Drive cost reduction and production readiness for electric power components.
