Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Software Solution Lead Engineer for Low Voltage Infrastructure. The role focuses on defining and implementing software for low voltage power management across ICE, EV, and PHEV platforms. You will drive requirements, design, integration, and debugging through the full vehicle development lifecycle.

Hybrid work model with onsite presence expected at least 3 days per week. Strong leadership, systems thinking, and excellent communication are essential to succeed in this

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 5+ years automotive engineering experience related to embedded controls, requirements development, architecture development, and/or systems engineering.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with independent judgement.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects with autonomy and accountability.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing without direct authority.
  • Experience defining and troubleshooting hardware–embedded interfaces.

Responsibilities

  • Lead functional breakdown, requirements development, and failure analysis for low voltage power management subsystems and ART solutions.
  • Create and maintain functional and non-functional requirements in SSTS and BTS using BDD.
  • Coordinate with systems engineers and hardware teams to align interface and performance requirements.
  • Lead triad meetings for development of solution requirements and test cases.
  • Support scrum team in decomposition and understanding of requirements as needed.
  • Collaborate with controls and software engineers to review implementation against requirements.
  • Lead development of subsystem-level FMEAs and collaborate on System/Component FMEAs.
  • Engage in root cause analysis and translate solutions into updated requirements for low voltage power management.
  • Provide technical support for power-management features to internal and external stakeholders.
