Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead multi-discipline cost estimates and schedules for large infrastructure projects, including hydroelectric facilities and power systems. You will coordinate teams of estimators, with a strong focus on ensuring accuracy, schedule adherence, and client alignment.

The role offers flexibility to work from home or in a Stantec office, with domestic and international travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Operations Management, Business Management, or related field.
• Experience with hydroelectric generation, substations, power systems, utility infrastructure required.
• Experience with hydroelectric generation facilities, substations, protection and control systems, transmission and distribution.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the timely and complete development of multi-discipline cost estimates and construction schedules.
• Coordinate input parameters for cost estimates and construction schedules.
• Develop detailed estimates for generators, transformers, substations, switchgear, medium- and high-voltage systems, protection and control systems, relay upgrades, SCADA systems, power distribution systems, electrical balance-of-plant infrastructure, transmission interconnections, and related facilities.
• Coordinate and compile information from all estimating disciplines into one cost estimate.
• Develop estimate execution plans outlining estimating strategy, scope assumptions, methodologies, staffing requirements, and schedules for major estimating efforts.
