Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking a Senior Estimator to develop and manage large, multi-discipline cost estimates and construction schedules for infrastructure projects worldwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Operations Management, Business Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of combined experience in an estimating and construction role.
• Experience estimating hydroelectric, utility, renewable energy, transmission, distribution, or power infrastructure projects is required.
• Estimating expertise in hydroelectric generation facilities, substations, and power infrastructure is preferred.
• Advanced understanding of different contract methods and how they apply to estimating.
• Experience with multiple estimating software and scheduling tools.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the development of multi-discipline cost estimates and construction schedules.
• Coordinate input parameters for cost estimates and schedules.
• Develop detailed estimates for generators, transformers, substations, and power infrastructure.
• Validate material takeoffs and construction quantities from drawings.
• Coordinate and compile information from estimating disciplines into one cost estimate.
• Prepare basis of cost estimate reports for end users.
• Identify risks and opportunities and contribute to risk analyses.
• Maintain communication with clients and stakeholders to defend estimates.
