Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Senior Safety Coordinator to actively support project teams in implementing environmental, safety, and health standards at the site level. This role requires a strong foundation in construction safety and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

You will enforce OSHA and company standards, assist with investigations and injury management, coordinate site safety orientations, and deliver safety training to employees and subcontractors

Qualifications

• BA/BS preferred with 3+ years of experience in construction or industrial health and safety programs.
• OSHA 510 – Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry certificate.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certification obtained within the last two years.
• OSHA 30-hour training for construction and Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certification.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships.
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication, with good organization.

Responsibilities

• Champions The Layton Way by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
• Enforces OSHA and Layton Construction safety standards and policies on sites.
• Assists the ESH Manager in accident investigations and data collection.
• Monitors workers’ compensation issues and reports timely information.
• Conducts site-specific safety orientations and participates in pre-construction safety meetings.
• Provides safety training to employees and subcontractor personnel at the site level.
