Job summary

Milliman's Employee Benefits Consulting Practice seeks a Compliance Consultant to provide strategic regulatory and compliance services for a diverse client base. The role focuses on designing, maintaining, and supporting compliant qualified and nonqualified employee benefit plans, including plan documents and disclosures.

You will bring deep ERISA and IRC knowledge, work independently, oversee the EB Compliance team and Research group, and engage in research, client advising, and correction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in business, law, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Employee Benefit Plans.
• Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRC, and Treasury regulations governing qualified plans.
• Experience in public speaking.
• Proven track record in employee benefits law within a law firm, consulting firm, or corporate legal department.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Ability to organize complex projects.
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects and tasks, prioritizing and meeting deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review plan documents and participant disclosures.
• Advise on nonqualified deferred compensation and health and welfare compliance matters.
• Support clients in resolving compliance issues through IRS and DOL programs.
• Conduct legal and regulatory research to address complex benefits-related questions.
• Plan Document Management: Drafting and reviewing pre-approved and individually designed plans.
• Disclosure Drafting: Creating SPDs and employee disclosures.
