Job summary

The Perry Group, Ltd., a CDM Smith company, seeks an experienced design-build/EPC Project Manager with strong heavy industrial power plant expertise to lead complex projects and coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.

You will define schedules, budgets, and objectives; manage costs and profitability; review client billings and vendor invoices; and mentor junior PMs while ensuring timely deliverables and stakeholder alignment.

Qualifications

• Significant experience with project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, project management software and finance and accounting concepts and practices.
• Demonstrates excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrates interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and clients.
• Possesses ability to interact with varying levels of staff, as well as vendors/subcontractors.
• Excellent PC skills including expert knowledge in MS Word and Excel.
• Demonstrates superior organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
• Understanding of building materials and construction methods; knowledge of procedures for production of construction documents.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Creates project definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives for projects.
• Prepares detailed statements of work with associated work breakdown structures (budgets) and gains concurrence from stakeholders.
• Manages project costs and is responsible for profitability.
• Creates and reviews client billings and ensures timely payment; approves subcontractor invoices.
• Monitors project status and escalates risks as needed.
• Manages change using change management protocols.
• Communicates deadlines, assignments, and objectives to project team.
• Prepares overall project schedule/timeline and in-house construction budgets by group responsibility.
• Facilitates meetings with stakeholders.
• Assists engineering disciplines with code reviews and problem resolution.
• Coordinates submittals to agencies and ensures progress toward deliverables.
• Reviews and distributes contract modifications and RFIs.
• Mentors less experienced Project Managers.
• Travel up to 10%.
