Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Regulatory Specialist to lead regulatory strategies and permitting for diverse projects in Virginia and the broader Mid-Atlantic US. You will guide NEPA compliance and author technical reports with agencies such as USACE, USFWS, and VDEQ, while coordinating with cross-functional teams.

You will oversee permit applications, manage comment responses, and ensure QA/QC of environmental deliverables within a dynamic, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state & federal laws & regulations and NEPA documentation.

Responsibilities

• Developing and executing environmental permitting strategy for a variety of projects.
• Directing the development of permit applications (e.g., 404/401, SUP, TVA, etc.).
• Participating in NEPA compliance strategy and documentation for federal/state projects.
• Directing technical reports for USACE, USFWS, VDEQ, VMRC, FHWA, EPA, VDHR and others.
• Coordinating wetland delineations, water determinations, and species assessments.
• Performing QA/QC reviews of environmental deliverables.
• Coordinating Environmental Compliance Monitoring inspections and record-keeping.
• Collaborating on integrated environmental/engineering teams from permitting through post-approval.
