Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Regulatory Specialist in Virginia to provide technical regulatory support for energy projects. The role involves coordinating state and federal permits, preparing applications, and leading project tasks with a focus on environmental compliance and safety.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with local and federal environmental regulations, licensing, and permitting within the utility sector.
• Experience with NEPA, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and related permits.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and adapt in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify project-specific environmental regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate state, federal, and local approvals and prepare final submittals.
• Prepare environmental permit applications and gather supporting docs.
• Write and review technical reports.
• Manage project tasks and budgets; onboard sub-consultants.
• Support public outreach and attend meetings as needed.
• Ensure QA/QC and Health and Safety throughout project life cycle.
