Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Regulatory Specialist to provide task management and technical leadership on environmental permitting and NEPA-related projects across the Mid-Atlantic, including Virginia and adjacent states. You will develop regulatory strategies, direct permit applications, and coordinate with agencies to ensure compliance.

You will prepare technical reports for federal and state agencies, manage project schedules and budgets, and work with multidisciplinary teams to support

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state & federal laws and regulations governing permitting and NEPA documentation.
• Hands-on experience managing permitting applications and NEPA documentation.
• Strong verbal and written communication, including regulatory negotiations.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and GIS.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute environmental permitting and regulatory strategies for diverse clients.
• Direct permit applications including federal and state environmental permits with documentation.
• Contribute to NEPA compliance strategy and documentation for federal/state projects.
• Prepare technical reports for agencies such as USACE, USFWS, VDEQ, VMRC, and FHWA.
• Coordinate environmental compliance monitoring, inspections, and recordkeeping.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across permitting stages.
