Job summary

ICF in the Environment & Planning Division seeks a Senior Environmental Planner to support NEPA compliance for energy, disaster management, and transportation projects. This remote-friendly role prefers staff located in Florida or the Eastern United States, with option to work from Reston, VA.

You will lead NEPA reviews, coordinate with clients and agencies, and help manage EAs and EISs, while contributing to project scopes, schedules, and budgets within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in natural or physical science, urban planning, public policy, economics, environmental management or related subjects.
• 4+ years of relevant professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Serving as a lead reviewer for NEPA projects.
• Interacting with applicants and agency staff.
• Helping agency staff manage the preparation of EAs and EISs (usually prepared by the applicant’s contractor).
• Reviewing NEPA documents prepared by the applicant’s contractor.
• Reviewing environmental components of applications.
• Participating in the Project Management team.
• Acting as PM on EAs or DPM on EISs.
• Developing written materials and analyses for EAs or EISs or categorical exclusions.
• Serving as a liaison to direct technical staff on project teams.
• Coordinating project deliverables with document production staff.
• Developing and monitoring project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Organizing and facilitating meetings and preparing summaries.
• Communicating with clients, stakeholders, and agency staff.
