Job summary

ICF is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner to lead NEPA project reviews and coordinate with clients, agencies, and contractors. The role supports EAs and EISs, develops analyses, and manages scopes, schedules, and budgets in a remote-friendly setting with office options in the Eastern United States.

The position emphasizes collaboration with project teams, strong organizational skills, and experience in environmental compliance, energy, disaster management, and transportation projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in natural or physical science, urban planning, public policy, economics, environmental management or related subjects.
• 4+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience with NEPA projects or environmental compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serving as a lead reviewer for NEPA projects
• Interacting with applicants and agency staff
• Helping agency staff manage the preparation of EAs and EISs (usually prepared by the applicant’s contractor)
• Reviewing NEPA documents prepared by the applicant’s contractor
• Reviewing environmental components of applications
• Participating in the Project Management team
• Acting as PM on EAs or DPM on EISs
• Developing written materials and analyses for EAs or EISs or categorical exclusions
• Serving as a liaison to direct technical staff on project teams
• Coordinating project deliverables with document production staff
• Developing and monitoring project scopes, schedules, and budgets
• Organizing and facilitating meetings (agendas, content, summaries)
• Communicating with clients, stakeholders, and agency staff
