Job summary

ICF is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner to support NEPA compliance for diverse projects, with a remote-friendly setup and preference for Florida or the Eastern United States. The role focuses on leading NEPA reviews, coordinating with agencies and clients, and guiding EAs and EISs from start to finish.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s or higher in a relevant field and 4+ years of experience, along with strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in natural or physical science, urban planning, public policy, economics, environmental management or related subjects.
• 4+ years of relevant professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Serving as a lead reviewer for NEPA projects
• Interacting with applicants and agency staff
• Helping agency staff manage the preparation of EAs and EISs (which are usually prepared by the applicant’s contractor)
• Reviewing NEPA documents prepared by the applicant’s contractor
• Reviewing environmental components of applications
• Participating in the Project Management team
• Acting as PM on EAs or DPM on EISs
• Developing written materials and analyses for EAs or EISs or categorical exclusions
• Serving as a liaison to direct technical staff on project teams
• Coordinating project deliverables with document production staff
• Developing and monitoring project scopes, schedules, and budgets
• Organizing and facilitating meetings (such as preparing agendas, developing and presenting meeting content, and preparing summaries)
• Communicating with clients, stakeholders, and agency staff

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in natural or physical science, urban planning, public policy, economics, environmental management or related subjects
