Job summary

Bunnell Lammons Engineering seeks a Department Manager to build and lead the Environmental Due Diligence and Remediation Services in the Charlotte area. You will shape strategy, drive project delivery, and mentor the team within an employee-owned firm.

The role requires senior environmental professionals with a strong track record in project leadership, client service, and regulatory knowledge, plus the ability to grow the practice in a competitive market.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related field.
• Professional registration as PE or PG preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in environmental consulting.
• Experience with Phase I/II ESAs and remediation projects.
• Familiarity with ASTM standards and environmental regulations.
• Strong leadership and staff-mentoring abilities.
• Proven client relationship and proposal development skills.
• Existing relationships in Charlotte area beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and technical leadership for the department.
• Oversee project delivery, budgets, and staffing.
• Develop and implement QA/QC and technical standards.
• Lead client relations and growth of BLE in Charlotte.
• Guide site investigations, data interpretation, and remediation strategies.
• Coordinate with Branch Manager and business development.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop department staff.
