Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Environmental Compliance Field Team Leader to provide technical leadership and oversight of field-based environmental monitoring on active construction projects. You will lead inspections, document findings, and communicate environmental requirements to project teams and clients.

The role combines hands-on field work with supervision, scheduling, and reporting. Travel to sites is required, with long field assignments possible; a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
• 5+ years experience in environmental permitting, monitoring or compliance.
• Experience leading field staff on construction projects.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50% or more.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental compliance inspections on active construction sites.
• Identify and document issues related to stormwater, wetlands, and habitats.
• Provide direction, mentoring, and coaching to junior staff.
• Interpret permit conditions and ensure field compliance.
• Coordinate with project teams and regulatory agencies.
• Prepare environmental inspection reports and maintain records.
